y'know something? this is awesome

i dunno if you agree or not, but i think this is the best one you've ever done. the animation was really tight, and it was genuinely funny. but back to the animation: there's some damn fine work here. you've always been pretty good, but here we have some very evident improvement. its very polished, and you have your own style. terrific! can't wait for part 2

eddsworld responds:

Holy hell, i wasn't expecting a review from you! Thanks a lot man, i'm glad you liked it! Love your stuff :D

all my fans are gonna give you 0's

just you wait! you'll witness AT LEAST a .00003 drop in your score!

RiverJordan responds:

wow, i give you a cameo on a magazine cover and all i get is an 8?

You disgust me!

<3

Woohoo! That came out quicker than I expected!

You can definitely see how your animation skills improved over the course of making this thing. You clearly put a lot of time and energy into this. It shows, between all the frame-by-frame, and all the dialogue (good lip-syncing is the biggest pain in the ass in my opinion, as we've discussed). It came out great. Nice work!

RiverJordan responds:

Hey thanks man! Means alot :)

one devilishly catchy song

i want this on my ipod like fuck. not only was my toe-a-tappin, by my dick-was-a-boner over how nice the animation was. this is the best thing that's popped up on newgrounds in a long time. i actually feel like it deserves the score it has

DarqV responds:

Best response I've had yet! And it means alot, especially after seeing your work (pretty amazing stuff, sir!).

A+ again

Man, if you keep filling up my favorite flashes list... people are gonna start to talk.

That must have been one of the most awkward recording sessions ever, having your mom sound all... hot and bothered. I don't know how I'd even bring that kind of thing up with my mom.. or my sister....

Anyhoo, delightful work, once again. Chalk this up as one more reason for me to envy your very existence. I wish I could exist like you :C

Dieing to see Starbarians. Is go be hot shit!

HappyHarry responds:

Haha, it was awkward as hell but as you can hear they did a good job.

Thanks for the encouragement dude :)

oh newgrounds. sigh.. you truly are full of morons

i'm kind of at a loss for words.... oh i have an idea, i'll write out my stream of consciousness upon realizing the existence of this video. that's what good reviews are made of.
ok first, i was all like, "oh egoraptor and tomamoto made a new movie. if that doesn't have at least a score of 4.50 i'll suck my dog's dick." then i clicked on it and i was like, "oh, it's only got a score of 4.15. this must royally SUCK if even egoraptor's thousands of fanboys aren't 5ing the ass out of this thing.... oh and i'm not gonna suck my dog's dick, cause we never shook hands on it, so it was never made an official bet.... besides my dog's a girl dog."

then i watched it. it... is... AWESOME!

now I gotta be honest. i've always been amused for the most part by egoraptors stuff. although i do believe that a lot of it is vastly overrated and half of his scores just come from people who cream their pants at the mention of the word "egoraptor", and the other half come from people who just aren't old enough to produce semen yet. and that has kinda always tampered with my opinion of it. the fact that egoraptor's animation is almost as good as his voicework is undeniable, but it was easy to overlook when i'm sitting here going, "4.99?!!! it's just a funny videogame parody! PHUUUUUKKK!"

this video put things in perspective for me. this is hilarious, and in many ways it is FAR superior to any of the Awesome cartoons. the dialogue/voice acting is as good as it gets. that was brilliant how you made the characters hate having to pronounce the names of stuff in this. and i LOVED how you had them mess up, recorded the sneeze and the sound of the script pages. hilarious. this was awesomer than any awesome movie. awesome.

animation was perfect. good frame by frame, funny frame by frame, and even the places where only the mouths moved worked perfectly because this is in fact a parody of anime. (not an attempt at recreating it. a parody. big difference there.) opening theme was great. damn, i just can't think of enough nice things to say about it.... meh, i'm content now actually. that'll do.

i do have one last thing to say though. this is further proof that newgrounds is a community of retards. this deserves a way higher score (and i rarely say that about flashes). all the 13-18 year olds watch this and go, "what? girlchan? i don't get it. when's Metal Gear Awesome 3 coming out?"

come on, retards. this is awesome.

damn fine work you guys. i've never seen Girlchan in Paradise before, but I feel like I can consider myself a fan anyway, thanks to this flash.

Egoraptor responds:

Wow, that was really fucking nice.

Thank you, that means a ton.

Oh wait, I mean... when's Metal gear Awesome 3 coming out.

oh good... the assumption song 2....

it's a little better than the assumption song because you actually bothered to color your it and lip sync it, and you didn't just use shittily drawn stick figures. you obviously put more time into this than the 2 hours it probably took Oney to make The Assumption Song, so it's not a carbon copy.

but it is, in essence, the same thing. an obscenely overrated little flash that everyone votes 5 on because the song (made by broadway talent) is funny... even though all you really did here was draw quick little chibi characters (which btw don't match the voices/personalities at all) and do some lip syncing.

if you'd had any other song in the background (one that wasn't funny like this one), and you used these characters and this style of animation, i highly doubt you'd get over a 4.20.

90% of the people giving this flash 10/10 and 5/5 are voting for the writer's of Avenue Q... not you.

Nami-Tsuki responds:

They're actually more voting for the Smash Bros characters :/

el oh el

that's pretty funny. and this all started forming in your head during the inauguration? that's awesome. animation was pretty limited, but i keep in mind that this is done in after effects... and in only a couple days.

it was funny. splendid work, amigo.

Jonnyethco responds:

If I animated like you do it might have been out by the time the apocalypse rolled around. :)

oh that santa!

very nice voice acting. there wasn't much animation here, but the voice acting was terrific, and i'm sure that's where your high score comes from.

and something tells me flash isn't the only program you used here. what else did you use?

btw, thanks for pluggin me lol. didn't really expect that sort of thing :-)

you're a swell guy

Jonnyethco responds:

Thanks man. The only thing I even used flash for was the embedding of my video. I animated the entire thing in After Effects. That's how I get those sweet particle effects like the snow.

and i didn't just write this because i owe you....

was this all done with a mouse? if so, then you do deserve some extra credit. The only animation i've ever had to do with a mouse is stick figures, so i have to assume this whole movie took an especially long time.

on the plus side, there were some genuinely funny parts to this movie that made me chuckle. (the part where Grinch-laden sewed his hands to the fabric for example). and the animation wasn't too bad considering the tools you had to work with. so nice job on that

the movie could have benefited from some background music though. it needed more than just some music at the end. you'd be surprised how some ambient background noise (or music) adds to the movie. it makes it sound more finished.

also, the voice quality was kind of low, but I can understand that entirely because it is extremely difficult to change the pitch of your voice without altering the speed. I had a hell of a time doing that for my elf in my flash. (I ended up using 3 different programs to work on the same audio file)

So good job. I didn't give you this score because just because you did me a favor... but I did give you a 5/5 for that reason :-)

smirkstudios responds:

thanks a lot bro :P let me clear some stuff up for you. i didnt use a mouse, but i did use the pencil tool the whole time which proved to be much sloppier of a tool thank i expected. my future toons will feature my skills with the paintbrush tool which is much better i must say. the low quality drawing in this is a result of not much perfection or time spent on the animation.

also, as far as the sounds, i just got a huge sound pack file of like 300 awesome sounds at pretty good quality, and i will be using sirjeffofshort 's voice talents in my next cartoon, which you can read about in my news page. thanks for the review bro, and thanks for the 5!!! i dont deserve it :P (personally i would have rated this at a 7/10 and 3/5)

I plan on animating stuff the rest of my life... sure hope I don't get my hands cut off.... that'd be rough
